One of the best courses available through your PADI dive centre or instructor has nothing to do with diving.  It is designed to save lives and help people in need, and is a valuable program for each and every person on the planet.  It is the Emergency First Response course, and it is a mandatory course for Rescue Divers and Divemasters.  Becoming an Emergency First Response Instructor is a requirement for every PADI Instructor, and at Palm Beach Divers we include the EFR Instructor program in our Instructor Development Course.  But maybe you are not planning to become a PADI Instructor, or for that matter even a scuba diver, no problem!  You can become an Emergency First Response Instructor even if you have no interest in scuba.  First Aid training is a multi-billion dollar industry and is in demand in every town, city, and village around the world.  What better way to make part or all of your living, than by helping people learn how to help people.

Prerequisites

You will need to have completed an Emergency First Response primary and secondary care program within the past 24 months, or have completed a similar qualifying program through another agency (example; Red Cross, St John’s Ambulance, etc)

***  Those with current CPR/First Aid Instructor credentials from other organizations may take the EFR Instructor crossover course.

***  Licensed medical professionals (example; nurses, paramedics, EMT’s, doctors) can enrol without having taken the provider-level courses within the past 24 months.  However, theses licensed medical professionals must show that their CPR and First Aid skills are current within the past 24 months.
